When we first moved to Brewood Hall, various forms of timber infestation required treatment. In 2008 there was a further outbreak (hopefully limited) of Death Watch Beetle which was treated as shown in these pictures.

This collection shows some of the details of the roof of Brewood Hall which offers a good vantage point for the surrounding district now, alas, heavily developed.

The lantern roof is believed to have been installed as part of changes carried out in the 19th century. The earlier photographs show the deterioration of the last-but-one structure, exacerbated by the exposed location. The remaining photographs show the fitting of a replacement lantern roof in late 2007.

Brewood Hall originally had around six acres of gardens. The elaborate topiary described by Dr. Plot in the seventeenth century was destroyed by the Monckton family in the 19th century. More recently, about five acres were developed for housing in the 1960s by the previous owners.

This collection records some of the external architectural features at Brewood Hall. The present structure dates from the 17th century but it has been extensively added to and changed by its varied occupiers. It is currently a Grade II Listed Building.
